Project Highlight: Abidjan

  • Ivory Coast has one of the healthiest Assemblies of God churches on the continent. It also has one of the largest Lebanese populations in Africa living in the capital city of Abidjan. Due to the prejudice and racism the Lebanese people have - it’s almost impossible for the Ivorian AG to plant a church and reach the unreached Lebanese population.

  • The leader of the Ivorian Assemblies of God has asked AGWM Africa to partner with them to plant an urban church focused on reaching the Lebanese community. About half of the Lebanese in Abidjan are non-practicing Catholics and the other half are atheist.

  • Our vision is to see a team planted in Mauritania in the next 5 years. Our initiative - Urban Tribes - is ready to plant a high impact church in partnership with the Ivorian AG, but we can’t do it without people responding to the call and churches partnering with this new plant.

  • Abidjan is home to over 5,000,000 people.

  • 7% of the population is Lebanese.

  • The Lebanese are the business people and landowners. They are influencers in society.

  • Our vision is to see a healthy church among the Lebanese community of Abidjan.
